Wines start in the vineyard. Being passionate about our wines, we meticulously locate the best Pinot Noir and Zinfandel vineyards available. We know only superb vineyard sources allow us to produce the kind of wines we wants to drink and share with the world. Years of experience have led to the careful selection of these vineyards.

Pauline’s Vineyard |
| Detail |
This sustainably farmed vineyard is located across from Timbercrest Farms—home of the Papapietro Perry Winery—at the edge of the Dry Creek Valley bench. The well-drained Yolo gravelly clay soil is aptly suited for Zinfandel. When the 100-plus-old-vines Zinfandel finally stopped producing in 1990, Randy Peters—the vineyard manager and son of the property owners Don and the late Pauline Peters—replanted the vineyard using the original Dry Creek “Mother Clone” Zinfandel budwood on the same St. George rootstock planted by his ancestors. This vineyard is thinned during verasion, limiting production to 3½ to 4 tons per acre, allowing the remaining grapes to fully ripen and express the intense flavors of a Dry Creek Zin. |
